Fighting fires for the citizens of Modesto
requires hundreds of hours of training annually for each firefighter.
At the training Center, all aspects of fire fighting, from
basic to advanced, are covered. Some examples of the required
training are hose and ladder evolutions, rescue practices, multi-company
drills, hydraulic formulas, and driver certifications. Most of the
training is held at the
Regional Fire Training Center, although
some of the subjects require that the training be held off site. Instructors can either be in house or guest instructors
that are capable of giving instruction in the particular field.
