Modesto Local 1289 hosted a BBQ luncheon at the Regional
Fire Training Center for the children returning from the Alisa Ann Ruch
Champ Camp. The burn camp is a week-long summer camp that gives
campers the opportunity to meet others who have similar life altering
experiences and to realize they are not alone in their injury. The
camp emphasizes inner beauty and not the burn scars left behind. With
the help of Modesto Firefighters, Explorer Post 911 and friends & family,
lunch was provided to over 60 children and adults on their return trip from
east of Fresno to Oakland, CA.
This was Local 1289's first year hosting the event after
many years of success from the Women's Auxiliary. The Modesto
Firefighters would like to thank al who gave of their time to make this
event such a success. We'll see you and our friends next year! |
